Specialized Heavy Freight (LTL) Delivery Protocol
Automotive lifts are commercial-grade heavy industrial machinery (typically 1,200 to 4,500 lbs) transported via specialized Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) flatbed and dry van freight carriers. Please read this delivery protocol to ensure a seamless arrival at your shop or residential workshop.
1. Order Processing & Dispatch Timelines
- Standard In-Stock Equipment: Dispatched from our central US logistics hubs (Dallas TX, Indianapolis IN, Reno NV) within 2 to 4 business days following order verification and payment clearance.
- Specialty & Heavy Fleet Models (12,000 – 15,000 lbs): Dispatched within 3 to 5 business days following factory crating and structural quality checks.
- Transit Duration: Typical transit across the contiguous United States ranges between 3 to 7 business days depending on delivery destination and regional terminal proximity.
2. Delivery Method Options
Option A: Freight Terminal Pickup (Recommended & Fastest)
Your crated equipment is shipped directly to the nearest regional freight carrier service center (R+L Carriers, Old Dominion, Estes Express, TForce). The terminal dock crew loads the crate onto your open pickup truck bed, flatbed trailer, or box truck using commercial forklifts 100% free of charge. Usually arrives 24–48 hours faster than residential curbside.
Option B: Commercial Facility with Loading Dock or Forklift
Direct delivery to a commercial business zoned for 53-foot semi-truck access, equipped with a standard height loading dock or on-site forklift with 4,000+ lb capacity and extended fork tines.
Option C: Residential Curbside Delivery with Hydraulic Liftgate
Curbside delivery to residential addresses. The carrier schedules an advance delivery window. A semi-truck equipped with a hydraulic liftgate lowers the crate to ground level at the curb or bottom of driveway. Note: Drivers cannot maneuver crated lifts inside home garages or across unpaved gravel driveways.
3. Delivery Appointment & Phone Notification
For all residential freight deliveries, the freight carrier dispatch will contact you via the phone number provided at checkout 24 to 48 hours prior to delivery to schedule a delivery appointment window (typically a 4-hour morning or afternoon block). An adult (18+) must be present on site to inspect and sign for the delivery.
4. Critical 48-Hour Freight Inspection & Receipt Protocol
Before signing the carrier's Delivery Receipt or electronic Proof of Delivery (POD):
- Visually inspect the exterior of the steel banding, wooden crating, and heavy shrink-wrap for any signs of forklift punctures, crushed timbers, or dropped impact marks.
- If ANY packaging damage is visible, you MUST write: "DAMAGED UPON ARRIVAL - SUBJECT TO INTERNAL INSPECTION" on the Bill of Lading / POD slip before the driver leaves.
- Take 4–6 clear digital photographs of the packaging and damage prior to unbanding.
- Notify LiftAxis Customer Support at support@LiftAxis.shop or call 1-800-543-8294 within 48 hours of delivery. Claims noted on the delivery receipt are guaranteed 100% replacement parts or full exchange.
5. Redelivery & Re-consignment Fees
If a delivery appointment is confirmed with the carrier but the customer is unavailable at the designated time, the carrier assesses redelivery fees ($125–$250) which are the responsibility of the consignee. Changing the delivery destination address after the shipment has departed our warehouse incurs standard carrier re-consignment fees.
